The studio

Only 246 pages left on your journey to becoming a rock star!

The recording studio is the place where music is traditionally being recorded, mixed, and mastered.

A studio can be anything from a quite small home recording studio to a large recording complex, and in this chapter we’ll analyze the differences between the various types of studios, we’ll see what kinds of studios will fit your needs, and you’ll even learn how to start your own project studio.

While amateur artists usually only spend a very short period of time in the studio (get in, record, mix and get out, everything usually within less than a month), most professional artists – including many of the Masters Of The Past – spent a lot of time in the studio.
