Since the early days of popular music, there have been marketing strategies that have been used by amateurs and professionals alike, and some of those are still being widely used today. We will call those the "traditional" marketing or promotion strategies, as those are strategies that originate from the pre-internet days, which means that they have existed for quite a long time.
