The Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones are an English rock band formed in London in 1962, and they have often been seen as a “rougher counterpart” to The Beatles. The Rolling Stones (aka “The Stones”) are still active and successfully touring today, the most prominent members being Mick Jagger (lead vocals) and Keith Richards (guitars). Just like The Beatles, the Stones were part of the British Invasion of bands that became popular in the US in the mid 1960s. While the band was one of the most outstanding acts of the 60s, they also remained highly successful in the 70s and afterwards.

Their 1965 hit (I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction (No #2 on Rolling Stone Magazine’s Top 500 Greatest Songs Of All Time list) features one of the best and most famous guitar riffs (or hooks) of all times.

They have 15 songs and 10 albums in the Rolling Stone Magazine’s Top 500 lists and they are No. 4 on Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Artists of All Time list. They’re estimated to have sold about 200 million records. Songs you should know:
